A Vital Role

Volunteers play a vital role at Hope’s Door New Beginning Center.  Each year, hundreds of people donate thousands of hours to help us provide safety, shelter, healing, and hope to families affected by domestic abuse.  COVID-19 has impacted how we are currently engaging our volunteers. Personal safety for our clients, staff and volunteers is a priority. We are limiting onsite volunteer opportunities at our outreach offices and emergency shelters in order to ensure this safety. Our resale store is fully open for volunteers. Please see the current opportunities we have for volunteers listed below.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our Golf Classic is held in the spring, our Tapestry of Hope is held in the Fall and several other events take place at various times through the year.  How to get started

New volunteers complete the individual volunteer application, background check (if 18 years of age or older), and attend one new volunteer orientation session before volunteering. Orientation sessions last approximately 1 hour. To attend orientation, both the application and background check must be completed. Due to COVID 19, orientation sessions will be offered via Zoom meeting until further notice. The Zoom meeting link will be emailed prior to each session to those who have completed both the application and background check. Email Beth Leos, This email address is being protected from spambots.
