Dear Supporters,

Christina CEOHope’s Door New Beginning Center is committed to the safety and well-being of those we serve, our staff, our volunteers, and the community at large. Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 through Friday, April 10, 2020, Hope’s Door New Beginning Center will cease all face-to-face services at our office locations. Our shelters continue to be open. All services that are normally offered face-to-face will be offered via phone and virtual access.

While we will continue to monitor the situation and adjust to the changing circumstances, here are the most current updates:

HELP CONTINUES TO BE AVAILABLE 24/7
- As always, our Hotline is available 24/7 in English and in Spanish to talk through safety planning, services, and resources. Call us anytime at 972-276-0057. Emergency shelter services continue with the utmost care and concern for the safety of victims and our staff.

SERVICES ARE VIRTUAL
- Effective March 18, 2020 through April 10, 2020, Hope’s Door New Beginning Center will cease all face-to-face services with the exception of our emergency shelter services. All victim services that are normally offered face-to-face will be offered via phone and virtual access. BIPP and Project Hope classes have been temporarily suspended. Updates to current clients are ongoing.

VOLUNTEERS
- To limit exposure, all volunteer activities are currently postponed until further notice. Volunteers play a vital role in our delivery of services by bringing donations, preparing food for shelter residents, and supporting work across programs. You can make a monetary donation here to help us meet the gap left by volunteers. If you have a donation of cleaning supplies or hand sanitizer, please contact Beth Leos at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

COMMUNITY EDUCATION & AWARENESS EVENTS
- We will continue to participate in events as scheduled but will hold back from booking further education and awareness events. Stay in touch with our education team by checking out our Community Education page on our website.

RESALE STORE
- Hope's Door Resale Store will be closed until further notice. We will not be accepting any donations at the store during this time. We expect to see critical revenue reduced and ask for your continued support as we navigate this situation.

NEEDED ITEMS
- Like many of you, we have a shortage of necessary items such as hand sanitizer, antibacterial hand soap, and toilet paper. If these products become available in the upcoming weeks, we would greatly appreciate any donations. To give, please contact Beth Leos at This email address is being protected from spambots. We will continue to keep the community informed of any changing circumstances at the agency. We stay committed to our mission of helping individuals build violence-free lives. When survivors are forced to stay in the home or in proximity to their abuser, it can create circumstances where their safety is compromised, and they may need to alter their safety plan. For any victims and survivors who need support, we are here for you, 24/7. Call our 24-Hour Hotline at 972-276-0057 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you in advance for your patience as we determine how best to continue serving our community and you.

In service,

Christina Coultas

Prevalence of Domestic Abuse in Texas
Domestic abuse is a human rights issue that affects thousands of people in our community regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, socio-economic level, religious affiliation or culture.

At Hope's Door New Beginning Center, we help individuals and families escape and heal from domestic abuse, dating abuse and family violence through our free trauma-informed services. Our community educators enhance the community’s capacity to recognize and respond to abuse through free educational programming to schools and organizations, while our certified BIPP facilitators help individuals who have exhibited controlling or abusive behaviors in the past achieve healthy and non-violent conflict resolution skills.

If you are or think you might be in an abusive relationship, know that you are not alone, it is not your fault, and help is available.
